QuickBooks Tip Preferences
At the time a company is created, there are Preferences set up. Most of us forget about these or don't know they can be changed. Let's take a look at a few that may be helpful to you.

tab, look at the first line - "Pressing Enter moves between fields". If there is a checkmark next to this preference, you can press Enter to get from one field to the next. If there is no checkmark, you will need to use the tab key or arrows to move to the next field. Another field that can potentially speed up entry is the "Automatically recall last transaction for this name". This works very well for vendors that are expensed to the same account every time. However, it can also be a problem if you forget to look at what is entered and save the transaction.
Note: Some older versions of QuickBooks do not have Preferences under Edit. They are under File. |
